Protect Your Time and Set Boundaries
Set boundaries. "Just one more revision" can quickly become 10. Your time is your currency—spend it wisely.
Heyyyyyy,
Let’s talk about something we’ve all faced at some point.
Endless revisions and out-of-scope requests.
"Just one more revision" can quickly spiral into multiple, eating away at your time and energy.
It’s so important to set boundaries early on in your projects.
Not just for your own sanity, but also to maintain a healthy, professional relationship with your clients.
Your time is your currency
Spend it wisely.
Saying “no” isn’t about being difficult, it’s about valuing the work you do and making sure your client understands the worth of it too.
One thing I’ve found helpful is to create a clear and polite response template for out-of-scope requests.
It helps set expectations and ensures both you and your client are on the same page when additional work arises.
Here's a template I use when clients request extra work beyond the agreed scope
Appreciate the request: Thank them for reaching out and express your willingness to assist.
Clarify the situation: Mention that the tasks they’re asking for fall outside the current contract or scope.
Propose a discussion: Suggest setting up a meeting to go over their request and explore ways to meet their goals.
